High speed PCIE camera 500 fps

PCIE cameraHigh speed PCIe camera is based on monochrome or colour 10-bit CMOS sensor with optical format 1/2", resolution 640 x 480 and progressive scan. Camera provides frame rate 500 fps for full frame resolution and much more for partial scanning at reduced resolutions. One can get 1900 fps for the region of interest 320 x 240. Example applications include high-speed video inspection, particle tracking, kinematics, collision studies and biological image analysis. The camera is connected to PC via DisplayPort cable and passive PCIE x1 adapter, providing direct image transfer to computer memory at rates up to 200 Megabytes per second.

This camera is a PCIe device, so we don't need a framegrabber and additional SDK. Camera PCIe controller with built-in Hard IP PCIe x1 Gen1 core offers Scatter Gather DMA, Plug-and-Play and Hot Plug. External power source is not necessary for the camera. The camera has trigger inputs to control data capture and strobe outputs to synchronize external equipment.

The software provides camera control and image capture. That software captures video stream at up to 500 frames per second with 640 x 480 at 8-bit resolution and provides user-selectable playback frame rates. Advanced versions of the software are available at additional charge.

Special features

  • Frame rate 500 fps for full frame resolution (640 x 480, 8 bit)
  • Subsumpling in Y direction to achieve reduced resolution while maintaining the constant field of view and increased frame rate (950 fps for full frame resolution with subsumpling)
  • Randomly programmable ROI read out (implemented as scanning of lines/columns from an uploaded position)
  • High frame rate at reduced resolutions: for the region of interest 320 x 240 one can get up to 1900 fps
  • Camera data rate up to 1500 Mbit/s
  • Read out direction can be reversed in X and Y
  • Non-destructive readout option
  • Multiple slope mode with extended dynamic range up to 90 dB
  • Full snapshot shutter (integration during read out is possible): at frame rate 500 fps (640 x 480) the exposure could be in the range from 4 µs up to 2 ms
  • Camera PCIe controller with built-in Hard IP PCIe x1 Gen1 core offers Scatter Gather DMA, Plug-and-Play and Hot Plug
  • Connection to PC via DisplayPort external cable and PCIe passive adapter
  • Drivers for Windows-7 and Linux (32/64)
